Samsung Accidentally 'Confirms' Radical Galaxy S10

We know a great deal about Samsung’s (very expensive) Galaxy S10, but a flurry of major leaks over the Christmas period have now taught us a lot more. And they stem from Samsung itself…
Thanks to a supply chain slip-up, Samsung has accidentally confirmed exactly what the Galaxy S10 will look like. And fans of the Galaxy Note 7 will be in for a surprise.
In a series of tweets, Samsung industry insider Ice Universe has confirmedthe Galaxy S10+ will be almost identical in size to the Galaxy Note 7 after the leaker managed to obtain an official Samsung case. This comparison is extremely impressive as the 2016 phone fitted a 5.7-inch display and Ice Universe states the Galaxy S10+ will squeeze a massive 6.44-inch screen into the same size chassis (153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm / 6.04 x 2.91 x 0.31-inch).
Ice Universe was also able to demonstrate how Samsung will achieve this as the Galaxy S10+ bottom bezel (or ‘chin’) will be even smaller than both the iPhone X and Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
The official case also confirms Samsung will realign the Galaxy S10+ cameras, placing them horizontally with an upgraded triple camera (plans for a quad camera were recently scrapped) and Ice Universe notes that charging speeds will increase too.
The official case is the first time we have been able to formally nail down the exact design of the Galaxy S10+ and it ties in with my exclusive earlier this month. Since the Galaxy S10 will look identical to the Plus model (apart from its smaller 6.11-inch display) this means we also now know what that will look like as well.
Consequently, only the new budget flat screen Galaxy S10 remains a mystery.
On the flipside, Samsung’s Galaxy S10 pricing is eye-watering and it’s unclear whether the new design in combination with a ultrasonic in-display reader will be enough to tempt customers to pay up. That said with the range’s release coming sooner than expected, Samsung fans won’t have to wait long to find out…
