The Galaxy S10 will be heavily redesigned and eye-wateringly expensive(the intriguing Lite version aside), but a major new leak reveals why gambling on Samsung's flagship version may well be worth it…
Fresh from a major Galaxy S10 Lite scoop, the ever-prolific, ever mysterious industry insider Ice Universe has revealed the flagship Galaxy S10+ is where Samsung will really push its design boundaries.
Having obtained official Samsung Galaxy S10+ cases, Ice Universe shows in a new video that the phone (which is expected to have a display up to 6.7-inches) has a chassis no larger than the 6.44-inch Galaxy Note 9. How? Making the tiny bezels of the Galaxy S9 even smaller.
But what are the other differences?
In an accompanying video, Ice Universe shows the Galaxy S10+ will switch up to a horizontally aligned triple lens camera (primary + wide-angle + 2x optical zoom) but perhaps the biggest news is what doesn’t change: the cases show Samsung has chosen to retain the headphone jack for another generation.
And, based on Ice Universe’s track record, this is information you can get excited about. In the last year alone, the anonymous leaker has successfully outed the final designs of the Galaxy S9 , Galaxy Note 9 and iPhone XR long before their release.
So combine what we now know about the Galaxy S10+ with its in-display ultrasonic fingerprint reader and punch-hole display and Samsung is essentially giving customers Apple’s 2020 iPhone redesign a year early.
The only fly in the ointment? Whether buying the Galaxy S10+ is worth it when Samsung’s own Galaxy S10 Lite can stand toe-to-toe for a fraction of the price. Either way, with Samsung planning given the range its earliest ever release date, you’ll know your decision very soon…
