Microsoft planning a big upgrade to the entry-level Surface Book 2

Microsoft is planning a quiet upgrade to the Surface Book 2 line of laptops.
Listing for a new Surface Book 2 variant has been showing up at online retailers, listing an entry-level model with an Intel Core i5-8350U processor, a significant upgrade over the current Intel Core i5-7300U processor in the entry-level model.
That model is a dual-core processor, while the new processor is quad-core and therefore significantly more powerful.
The new Surface Book 2 is still listed at the same price as the older entry-level model with eight gigabytes of RAM and a 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with stylus support, 3: 2 format and a resolution of 3000×2000 pixels, 17 hours battery life and two full size USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, the USB C port and the SD card reader.
As per the older model, the entry-level version is still missing the Nvidia graphics card and is listed around 1569 euros or $1499.
The retailers are listing the welcome upgrade as being available in the next few weeks.
